Optimization of gas tungsten arc welding parameters for welding of super duplex stainless steel using factorial design

This study investigates the relationship between four welding input parameters (voltage, current, heat input, and speed) ultimate tensile strength (UTS) yield (YS) of a welded joint. The work joined two super-duplex stainless-steel pipes outside diameter 0.630 inches (16.002 mm) thickness 0.065 (1.651 mm), using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. Factorial design was used to ascertain main interaction effects on UTS YS Results revealed significant voltage, speed for UTS, YS. further that as voltage increases from 9.3 V 11.6 V, decreases by 2.69 MPa, while significantly 24.25 MPa. When current 30 A 38 A, 10.81 4.25 In case speed, an increase 0.46 0.71 mm/s results in decrease 7.94 MPa 33.25 0.54 0.70 kJ/mm, 15.06 whereas 35.25 Also, optimum are 11.60 30.0 mm/s, respectively, those 9.30 respectively.
